SAC provides exclusive service for seniors to issue new National Identity Card

SAC in Bahia is offering exclusive morning appointments for seniors to issue the new National Identity Card, with services available in multiple locations.

The Serviço de Atendimento ao Cidadão (SAC) in Bahia has announced an exclusive service for senior citizens aged 60 and above to issue the new Carteira de Identidade Nacional (CIN) on Saturday, the 14th. This free service is designed to facilitate the issuance of identification cards necessary for various administrative purposes. Seniors must schedule this service in advance by calling designated numbers, ensuring a streamlined process for those who need it.

The initiative will take place in Salvador and throughout the metropolitan area, where all SAC posts are participating, along with 21 other units and 39 Points SAC in the interior of the state. Furthermore, the mobile SAC service will be stationed in Itabuna and Lajedo do Tabocal to increase accessibility. This fifth edition of the Projeto Cidadão 60+ aims to reach 62 municipalities in Bahia, providing an opportunity for over 4,500 senior citizens to obtain this vital identification.

Such targeted efforts illustrate the importance of addressing the needs of the aging population in Brazil. Given that this initiative is part of a larger movement to enhance accessibility to government services for seniors, it reflects a growing recognition of the unique challenges they face. The success of previous editions, serving thousands, underscores the value of this ongoing support for elderly citizens, who may otherwise struggle to access necessary services without dedicated organizational efforts like those offered by SAC.
