PedidosYa will expand to Playas, Daule, and two more cities in Ecuador and will open a new ‘market’ in Urdesa
PedidosYa is set to expand its operations to two new cities and open a new market in Urdesa, Guayaquil, as part of its growth strategy in Ecuador.
PedidosYa, the delivery service owned by the German company Delivery Hero, is expanding its presence in Ecuador by opening a new supermarket, referred to as a 'market', in Urdesa, Guayaquil. This development marks the company's seventh market, which will operate exclusively based on orders placed through its delivery app rather than being accessible to the general public. The expansion highlights the company's strategy of enhancing its service offerings in the Ecuadorian market, where it has been operating for five years and currently engages with over 12,000 affiliated merchants and around 6,000 delivery personnel across 18 cities.
On March 11, the company presented its results and outlined its plans for the upcoming year, which include entering two additional cities, Playas and Daule. Currently, PedidosYa has six active markets in Ecuador, located in various sectors of Quito and Guayaquil. The new market in Urdesa promises a wide assortment of products, including meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, dairy, and bakery items, aiming to cater to the growing demand for convenient grocery delivery services.
With its continued growth and the introduction of new markets, PedidosYa is poised to strengthen its foothold in Ecuador's evolving retail landscape. The emphasis on delivery-only operations not only reflects the changing consumer habits but also positions the company favorably amidst a competitive market landscape, focusing on efficiency and customer convenience, which are critical for success in the food and grocery delivery sector.
