Austriacard Holdings AG (ACAG) has secured a significant contract with Greece's Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to produce smart tachograph cards, valued at €1.536 million over an initial three-year period with a possible one-year extension. This project is crucial for professional vehicle drivers, transport companies, garages, and regulatory authorities and adheres to stringent European technical standards. The production includes complete personalization and handling of the entire lifecycle of the smart tachograph cards.

The implementation of this project will involve managing advanced Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to generate digital certificates, ensuring secure printing and personalization of the cards. Moreover, the contract stipulates the creation and distribution of PIN codes through encrypted and tamper-proof processes, which guarantee secure delivery to the Ministry.
