Aerial Traffic: Corporate Donation for Supply of Control Communication System
A contract has been signed for a €3.8 million donation to supply and install a voice communication and recording system for Athens and Macedonia's Air Traffic Control Centers.
On Monday, a contract was signed for a corporate donation amounting to €3.8 million (excluding VAT) for the procurement and installation of a Voice Communication & Recording System (VCRS) to meet the operational needs of the Air Traffic Control Centers in Athens and Macedonia, overseen by the Greek Civil Aviation Authority. The signing ceremony was attended by several notable officials, including the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Dimas, and the Deputy Minister, Nikos Tachiaos, highlighting the significance of this project.
The agreement was executed by Georgios Vagenas, the head of the Greek Civil Aviation Authority, along with representatives from the donating companies. These included top executives from Athens International Airport, Fraport Greece, Aegean Airlines, and the Sky Express Group, signaling a collaborative effort among major players in the aviation sector to enhance communication infrastructure. This strategic investment aims to modernize the systems used for air traffic management, which is crucial for safety and efficiency in air travel.
