Risk Management Secretariat deploys humanitarian assistance after 68 rain events in recent days

The Ecuadorian government has launched immediate humanitarian assistance following 68 weather-related events over the last two days, impacting several provinces.

The Ecuadorian government activated an immediate response due to 68 incidents caused by heavy rainfall in various provinces over the last two days. Provinces such as El Oro, Guayas, Los RΓ­os, Cotopaxi, and BolΓ­var have experienced severe impacts including flooding, landslides, erosion, mudslides, and rock falls. The government has been coordinating efforts to provide humanitarian assistance and establish temporary accommodations for those affected.

In response, the National Risk Management Secretariat, led by Carolina Lozano, has been proactive in deploying humanitarian aid. Approximately 3,000 aid items have already been distributed as part of the initial response efforts.
