Study from France: How Our Lifestyle Harms Sleep Quality
A new study from France indicates that modern lifestyle habits contribute significantly to sleep disturbances among the population.
A recent study conducted in France has brought attention to the negative impact of contemporary lifestyles on sleep quality. Results show that individuals are spending less time outdoors and more time in front of screens, leading to an increase in sleep-related issues. According to the survey by OpinionWay, commissioned by the National Institute for Sleep and Vigilance (INSV) and the Vinci Autoroutes Foundation, the average sleep duration during weekdays has decreased to six hours and 50 minutes, indicating a decline of 14 minutes compared to the previous year.
The survey results reveal a concerning trend, with half of the participants reporting that they wake up feeling tired. Moreover, 38% of respondents are experiencing sleep disturbances, with insomnia being the most common issue. This drop in sleep quality is alarming, especially as lifestyles become increasingly hectic and filled with distractions. The data underlines the importance of not only the duration of sleep but also the overall quality, which can significantly impact mental and physical health.
