The Latvian government has approved the development of a new electronic data collection and exchange system called DELTA, as detailed in a report by the Ministry of Economics. This innovative system is designed to facilitate automated communication with respondents and is set to integrate with existing state information systems. The report also mentions that President Edgars Rinkēvičs has submitted a draft law to the Saeima, proposing amendments to the Law on State Administration. These amendments intend to designate the Central Statistical Bureau (CSP) as the maintainer of the secure data processing environment and coordination point for the utilization of data from state information systems. Furthermore, the Data State Inspectorate will conduct regular audits of personal data processing, and a clear procedure for data transmission to state institutions will be established.
