Latvia, together with Denmark and Norway, will develop an app for first aid in various crisis situations
Latvia is collaborating with Denmark and Norway to create an app focused on first aid in crisis situations as part of an Erasmus+ project initiated by the Ministry of Health.
Latvia, Denmark, and Norway are joining forces to develop an interactive app aimed at enhancing first aid knowledge and capabilities during various crisis situations. According to a report approved by the Latvian government, the Ministry of Health is spearheading this initiative as part of the European Commission's Erasmus+ program, which focuses on international collaboration in education and training. This app seeks to study the most common types of injuries and the specific first aid needs that arise during emergencies.
A key component of the project involves gathering insights from instructors affiliated with the Ukrainian Red Cross, who will share their experiences regarding the challenges faced during wartime. This collaboration aims to identify critical learning needs and prioritize first aid algorithms by leveraging both international best practices and wartime experiences. The outcome is intended to not just provide theoretical knowledge, but also to encourage practical readiness and effective response tactics.
Additionally, the app will be designed to function both online and offline, ensuring that training materials are accessible even when internet connectivity is unreliable. This feature underscores the commitment to practical education, allowing users to be better prepared to act in emergencies, ultimately contributing to community resilience and improving first aid responses in Latvia and beyond.
