Bolsonaro's PL Breaks with Ibaneis and Proposes CPI on Master in the DF Chamber
The PL party has severed ties with Governor Ibaneis Rocha and proposed a parliamentary inquiry to investigate fraud related to Banco Master in the Federal District.
The PL party has officially broken ties with Governor Ibaneis Rocha from MDB and introduced a proposal for a Parliamentary Inquiry (CPI) within the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District. This move comes in light of ongoing investigations concerning Banco Master, which is entangled with the Banco de BrasΓlia (BRB). The situation intensifies as the previous support from Rocha for former president Jair Bolsonaro appears to be fading, indicating that Rocha may not find a place within the Bolsonaro-aligned slate for this election cycle.
The calls for the CPI have heightened following revelations of a contract between Rocha's law office and a fund associated with Reag Investimentos, which has come under scrutiny in connection with the Master fraud. Consequently, Rocha is viewed as the primary target for the legislative probe in the Federal District, raising serious questions about his involvement in the alleged misappropriation of funds and the potential implications for his political future.
The decision to break relations with Rocha was made by Bia Kicis, the president of the PL in the Federal District, in conjunction with other key figures such as federal deputy Alberto Fraga and district deputies Joaquim Roriz, Thiago Manzoni, and Roosevelt Vilela. This significant step forward by the PL reflects their commitment to pursuing accountability in situations where there are serious indications of resource misappropriation, highlighting the urgent need for action in the face of such allegations.
