Action offers scheduling of free consultations and exams for women in Salvador; see the list of services and specialties

The Bahia government is providing free healthcare services for women in Salvador through a scheduling initiative at the Pirajá Metro Station.

The government of Bahia, in collaboration with Metrô Bahia, is launching a comprehensive healthcare initiative aimed at offering free consultations and exams exclusively for women. This two-day event will take place at the Pirajá Metro Station on February 10 and 11, operating from 8 AM to 5 PM. This initiative is part of the Feira Março de Todas as Mulheres, which serves communities in the Cajazeiras and suburban areas of the capital city, Salvador.

The range of available services includes critical health checks such as various types of ultrasounds, electrocardiograms, chest X-rays, and surgical consultations for common issues like hernias and gallbladder problems. Additionally, there will be services provided by specialists in ophthalmology, gynecology, and nutrition, as well as laboratory testing and general health checks including blood pressure and blood glucose measurements. This concerted effort underscores the government's commitment to enhancing women's healthcare accessibility in Bahia.

By offering free healthcare resources directly within the community, the initiative aims not only to address immediate health concerns but also to encourage women to engage with preventative care. Such actions are vital in reducing health disparities and ensuring that women in Salvador receive the support they need for healthier outcomes, reinforcing the initiative's focus on women's health and well-being during the international observance of women's issues in March.
