University offers free gynecological care throughout March in Salvador

The University of Salvador (Unifacs) is providing free gynecological exams and consultations during March to raise awareness about cervical cancer and endometriosis.

Throughout March, the University of Salvador (Unifacs) is offering free gynecological exams as part of the campaigns ‘Março Lilás’ (Pink March) and ‘Março Amarelo’ (Yellow March). This initiative aims to raise awareness about cervical cancer and endometriosis, two significant women's health issues. The services include medical consultations and the collection of the preventive exam (Pap smear) at the Integrated Health Clinic (CIS) located on the Paralela campus of Unifacs.

In addition to the medical services, the campaign also includes educational activities focused on self-care and women's health. The university encourages women to take advantage of this opportunity by bringing valid identification and their SUS card, or they can schedule an appointment via WhatsApp. The operating hours for these services are varied throughout the week, offering flexibility for women to access the care they need.

This initiative shows the university's commitment to promoting women's health and providing essential services to the community. By raising awareness and providing free consultations, Unifacs is not only helping to detect health issues early but is also fostering a culture of preventive healthcare among women in the region.
