Municipal Hospital of Salvador carries out triage for elective surgeries; 100 spots will be offered
The Municipal Hospital of Salvador is conducting a triage for elective surgeries, offering 100 spots for clinical evaluation of adult patients.
The Municipal Hospital of Salvador (HMS) is scheduled to carry out a triage for elective surgeries on Saturday, November 7, starting at 7 AM. This initiative allows for 100 adult patients to receive clinical evaluations on a first-come, first-served basis. The focus is on streamlining the process for surgeries that have been pending and alleviating the waiting list within the municipal health care framework.
According to the Municipal Health Department (SMS), this measure is part of broader strategies aimed at increasing the availability of surgical procedures. The types of surgeries planned include general surgical operations such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal), hernia repairs (inguinal, umbilical, and epigastric), hysterectomy (uterus removal), and excision of skin lesions indicative of biopsy or removal, as well as lipoma surgery.
During the triage process, patients will be assessed by specialized teams who will determine the appropriate directions for each case based on clinical criteria and established protocols. This process is essential for addressing the backlog in elective surgeries and improving health care delivery within the municipal system, ultimately aiming for more efficient use of resources and better health outcomes for citizens.
