Seoul City University has officially launched the 4th term of its Climate Youth Volunteer Group, known as 'Claius', under the auspices of the Dongdaemun District Carbon Neutral Support Center. This inauguration ceremony followed the graduation event for the 3rd term members who have spent the last seven months raising awareness about carbon neutrality in the community. The 3rd term members shared their achievements, which include educational programs for children, drafting carbon neutrality policy proposals, and producing informative materials, showcasing a commitment to spreading carbon neutral values across various community initiatives.

The Dongdaemun District Carbon Neutral Support Center, established under the 'Basic Act on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth', plays a crucial role in facilitating carbon neutrality efforts in the district. Following its designation in April 2025, Seoul City University has been focused on enhancing the district's capabilities for carbon neutrality through cooperation with expert researchers and environmental support centers. The center awarded certificates to 27 members of the 3rd term who have made significant contributions to the promotion of carbon neutrality through various teams working on publicity, education, campaigns, policy research, and technical studies.

At the launch event for the 4th term, the new members participated in team orientations to set activity goals and elect leaders, thereby establishing a structured approach for their upcoming projects. Dongdaemun District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung expressed his support for the passionate youth involved in climate action, hoping their enthusiasm would effectively integrate with the district's carbon neutrality policies to create a significant impact. Carbon Neutral Support Center Director Ku Ja-yong emphasized the need for the youth to become proactive members who actively propose solutions for achieving local carbon neutrality, stating that each of their innovative ideas could significantly contribute to reducing carbon emissions in Dongdaemun and changing community perceptions.
