On Monday morning, the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) in Brazil renewed a yellow alert for 175 cities across the state of Paraíba. This alert is effective until 11:59 PM on Tuesday, indicating the likelihood of heavy rainfall between 20 and 30 mm/h and up to 50 mm throughout the day, alongside strong winds ranging from 40 to 60 km/h.
The Inmet has warned of a low risk for issues such as power outages, falling tree branches, flooding, and lightning strikes due to these weather conditions. Residents are advised not to take shelter under trees because of the slight risk of falling branches and to avoid parking vehicles near transmission towers and billboards. Additionally, it is suggested that electronic devices should not be used while plugged in during this weather alert.
As the situation unfolds, the communities affected by this alert are urged to remain vigilant and follow any further advisories from local authorities, especially those living in areas prone to flooding. The public's safety is of utmost importance as these weather conditions can pose various risks, even if the probability remains relatively low according to the latest update from Inmet.
