Successful candidates of the first nationwide written exam ASEP: A definitive solution to our captivity must be given

Successful candidates of Greece's first nationwide written exam are protesting against the government's handling of vacant positions that mismatch their qualifications.

The candidates who successfully passed the first nationwide written exam conducted by ASEP have voiced their discontent through their association, criticizing the ongoing deception they have experienced for the past three years. In light of the recent announcement of the final results for the 2GB/2025 positions, which lack 2,140 filled roles, these candidates state that the government has offered them positions for which they are not qualified. They argue that while they are primarily administrative personnel, they are being assigned roles such as veterinarians, leading to their inability to apply for positions they do not meet the criteria for.

The candidates explain that the vacant positions from the announcement are for specialties such as engineers and IT professionals, which do not correspond to their qualifications as the pool of successful candidates mainly consists of administrative backgrounds. This situation has persisted since the program's inception, resulting in successful candidates remaining unappointed due to the lack of appropriate job vacancies that align with their expertise. Simultaneously, services remain understaffed, causing discrepancies in the government's reported numbers regarding employment.

In emphasizing the consequences of this misalignment, the candidates highlight that this issue not only affects them but also hampers the functioning of public services. They urge the government to address this systemic problem and provide appropriate positions that match their qualifications to fill the gaps within various government departments effectively.
