Exhibition showcases exclusive pieces by women artisans in Teresina starting this Monday (9)

An exhibition featuring exclusive pieces by Piauí women artisans will take place on March 9 and 10 in Teresina, celebrating International Women's Day.

The exhibition 'Women Who Inspire' is set to launch on March 9 and 10 at the Central de Artesanato Mestre Dezinho in Teresina, featuring exclusive handcrafted items from local Piauí women artisans. This event is open to the public and coincides with the International Women's Day celebrations that occur on March 8. Organizers aim to highlight the legacy and contributions of women artisans in the region.

The Superintendency of Development of Piauí Craftsmanship (Sudarpi) emphasizes the importance of this exhibition as it not only showcases the creativity and skills of the artisans but also serves to promote their work to a broader audience. Among the items displayed will be diverse crafts, including straw products, ceramics, embroidery, weaving, woodworking, and sewing. The event is designed to attract attention and appreciation for the talent of these women artisans, fostering both professional and social impact.

Marilena Pereira, a seamstress with 30 years of experience, will participate in the event and expresses that such initiatives are crucial in elevating the status of artisans. She notes that the exhibition draws significant public attention, encouraging visitors to recognize and support their work, while also empowering women through the strength of their creative contributions to the local culture and economy.
