The number of job vacancies in Latvia decreased by 13.3% last year, according to Central Statistical Bureau data.
Last year, Latvia experienced a notable reduction in the number of available job vacancies, with an average of 20,000 vacancies reported, down 3,100 or 13.3% from the previous year of 2024. This decline was prominent in both the private and public sectors, with job openings in the private sector decreasing by approximately 1,200 or 10.2%, while the public sector witnessed a more considerable drop of around 1,800 or 16.7%. Overall, only 2.2% of all positions in Latvia, combining both filled and vacant roles, were open, highlighting the challenges in the labor market.
