The recently improved road between Manta and Montecristi spans 2.57 kilometers, addressing issues like potholes and damaged sections that hindered travel. The rehabilitation project, which came at a cost of $310,000, was carried out by EP Manabí Vial in collaboration with the local government of Montecristi as a part of their provincial road maintenance plan.

Ricardo Delgado, a local transport cooperative leader, emphasized that the improvements significantly enhance driving conditions for daily commuters, including transporters and residents of the area. This project represents a vital upgrade for a route that is frequently used. It showcases the local government's efforts to enhance infrastructure and support economic activities in the region, benefitting both the transport sector and local inhabitants.
