Finns stuck in crisis area – the embassy arranged buses

The Finnish embassy in Doha assisted Finnish citizens in departing from a crisis area by organizing bus transportation to Saudi Arabia.

The Finnish embassy in Doha has taken action to help Finnish citizens stranded in a crisis area, facilitating their exit through organized bus transportation. According to a Facebook update from the embassy, they successfully transported all those who indicated their willingness to leave using two buses. The first bus departed this morning from Doha to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with support from both Finnish and Swedish embassies. The Finnish ambassador in Doha, Juha Mustonen, oversaw the operation alongside a representative from a travel agency.

In addition to the initial bus, a later transport was arranged in collaboration with the Danish embassy, also carrying Finnish nationals. Both buses have successfully passed border checks and arrived safely in Saudi Arabia, where representatives from the Finnish embassy in Riyadh are waiting to assist. From Riyadh, the Finnish citizens will continue their journey back to Finland on commercial flights.

Ambassador Juha Mustonen expressed gratitude on behalf of the Finnish embassy for the excellent cooperation among the assisting Finnish and Nordic embassies, as well as the support received from Qatari transport companies. This operation highlights the importance of diplomatic collaboration in crisis management and the effective support provided to citizens abroad during emergencies.
