Middle East: More Greek citizens repatriated
The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues repatriation operations for Greek citizens and their families from war-torn regions in the Middle East.
The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively coordinating repatriation efforts for its citizens amidst the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. As of Saturday, March 7, new operations were completed successfully, ensuring the safe return of Greek nationals. In particular, 90 Greek citizens and their families arrived in Athens from Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain via a C-130 aircraft provided by the Air Force, organized through Greek embassies in Riyadh, Kuwait City, and Doha. Furthermore, an additional 448 citizens returned from Dubai on a specially arranged Emirates flight, facilitated by the Greek Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
These repatriation efforts highlight the Greek government's commitment to ensuring the safety of its citizens abroad, especially those in regions experiencing conflict. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains fully prepared to extend assistance to any Greeks affected by the volatile situation across the broader Middle East. The government has emphasized its ongoing vigilance and readiness to respond to the needs of its nationals as the situation evolves.
With these latest operations, it is evident that the Greek government stands proactive in protecting its citizens' welfare, demonstrating a significant focus on providing aid and facilitating safe returns. As the conflict in the Middle East continues, these large-scale repatriations are expected to persist in the upcoming days as more citizens may require evacuation from danger zones.
