New flights for the repatriation of Greeks from the Middle East

New flights are set to repatriate Greeks from the Middle East, with arrivals scheduled at Athens airport today.

In response to the ongoing situation in the Middle East, new repatriation flights for Greek citizens are being organized. One of the special flights operated by Aegean Airlines, arranged by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is scheduled to arrive at Athens' Eleftherios Venizelos Airport from Dubai at 21:30. Additionally, a military C-130 aircraft of the Hellenic Air Force will land at the Elefsina military airport at 19:00, also returning from Dubai.

Upon arrival, the repatriated individuals will be transported by bus to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs located at 1 Academias Street in central Athens. This action demonstrates Greece's commitment to assisting its citizens abroad during challenging times. The coordination of these flights is a part of the government's wider strategy to ensure the safety and return of Greeks who may be in vulnerable situations in conflict-affected regions.

The first wave of repatriations has already been completed, showcasing the effectiveness of the Ministry's operations in responding promptly to the needs of its citizens. The situation in the Middle East remains fluid, and these organized efforts underscore the importance of international cooperation in crisis management, particularly in safeguarding the welfare of citizens in the face of geopolitical instability.
