Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Greek citizens repatriated safely from the Middle East – Operations continue
The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs has successfully facilitated the repatriation of Greek citizens and their families from the Middle East amid ongoing conflict.
On March 6, the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs completed its operations to repatriate Greek citizens and their family members from the Middle East. A series of flights were organized with the assistance of Greek embassies in the region, ensuring the safe return of 46 citizens and their families from Oman, as well as additional groups from the United Arab Emirates. These coordinated efforts reflect Greece's commitment to supporting its citizens abroad, especially amidst the volatile situation in the Middle East.
Specifics of the operations revealed that 46 Greek citizens and their families arrived in Athens via a special Aegean Airlines flight, while an additional 89 were brought back using a SKY express flight. Moreover, another group of 142 individuals from Sharjah, UAE, was transported back to Athens on two Air Arabia flights. The efficient organization of these repatriation efforts underscores the effective diplomatic and logistical strategies employed by the Greek government.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has indicated that operations will continue, remaining on high alert to assist any additional Greeks affected by the ongoing conflict in the broader Middle Eastern region. This proactive approach highlights the importance of global diplomatic channels and preparedness in ensuring the safety of citizens during international crises.
