Know the procedures that the ANT reactivates from March 9 after suspension
The National Transit Agency (ANT) in Ecuador has announced the reopening of over 80% of its services as of March 9, allowing citizens to resume key processes related to vehicle registration and transportation permits.
The National Transit Agency (ANT) of Ecuador has declared that more than 80% of its services will be operational starting March 9, aiming to normalize user assistance after a period of suspension. While this move is expected to ease the burden on citizens needing transit-related services, it was noted that the Cayambe and MejΓa agencies will still be closed for the time being. This reopening comes as part of an effort to improve access to transportation services across the country.
In addition to reopening its service centers, the ANT has confirmed that the vehicular registration system has been enabled for 127 decentralized autonomous governments (GADs) nationwide. This development allows citizens to resume the processes involved in the inspection and registration of their vehicles, which is crucial for maintaining lawful and safe transportation in Ecuador.
The services available include critical processes such as the issuance of contracts, permits, and operational concessions for transport operators. Also included are procedures for renewing operation permits for heavy freight transport. This comprehensive approach is aimed at facilitating smoother transitions back to normalcy for both transport operators and the general public, emphasizing the government's commitment to restoring essential services.
