Arlet Levandi achieved a personal best in Norway
Figure skater Arlet Levandi set a personal record at the Sonja Henie Trophy in Norway and is currently leading ahead of the free skate.
Estonian figure skater Arlet Levandi made headlines at the Sonja Henie Trophy in Norway, where she achieved a personal best score of 83.47 points in her short program. This remarkable performance puts Levandi in a strong position, as she leads the competition going into the free skate. While she had a minor setback with a less-than-ideal landing on a quadruple toe loop, Levandi successfully executed a triple axel and a clean 3+3 cascade, which contributed to her record score. Her previous personal best was 77.45 points, set in November in Estonia.
Levandi's achievement has significant implications for her upcoming free skate, as she aims to surpass her overall personal best of 228.52 points. With her current score in the short program already propelling her into a leadership position, the added pressure will test her performance capabilities. Competitors include French skater Samy Hammi in second place with 70.37 points and Swedish skater Andreas Nordeback in third with 66.60 points. This competition is crucial not only for Levandiβs standings but also for her confidence as she prepares for future events.
Additionally, Levandi's compatriot Olesja Leonova is also competing in the women's category, presently sitting in fifth place after scoring 49.09 points in her short program. The event highlights the growing presence and competitiveness of Estonian skaters on the international stage, as they continue to make strides in figure skating.
