Datafolha: Haddad has 41% and Flávio Bolsonaro, 43%, in a second round scenario for president
A recent Datafolha poll indicates that in a potential second round of the 2026 presidential election, Fernando Haddad holds 41% of voter intentions while Flávio Bolsonaro has 43%, reflecting a statistical tie.
A Datafolha survey conducted from March 3 to 5 highlights the voter intentions for a second round in the upcoming 2026 Brazilian presidential elections. The survey shows that Fernando Haddad of the Workers' Party (PT) has garnered 41% of the voting intentions, while the senator Flávio Bolsonaro from the Liberal Party (PL) leads slightly with 43%. However, given the margin of error of two percentage points, both candidates are essentially in a statistical tie.
This poll marks the first time that Haddad's name has been included in these head-to-head scenarios against Bolsonaro, which adds significance to the results. The survey involved 2,004 voters across 137 municipalities in Brazil, maintaining a 95% confidence level. The portion of undecided voters or those who wish to vote blank/null stands at 14%, with only 1% remaining unsure, emphasizing the competition's intensity as both candidates gear up for the upcoming electoral battle.
In addition to the second round projections, the Datafolha study also explored first-round scenarios for Haddad. The polling results indicate a solid engagement among key political figures ahead of the presidential elections, providing insights into the shifting dynamics of Brazilian politics as candidates position themselves ahead of the electorate's decision.
