Sebrae now offers 100% credit for MEIs affected by rains in Minas
Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEIs) in 68 municipalities of Minas Gerais affected by heavy rains will now have access to fully guaranteed loans for reconstruction of their businesses.
The Brazilian support agency Sebrae has announced that it will provide 100% credit guarantee for loans given to Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEIs), micro-enterprises, and small businesses in 68 municipalities in Minas Gerais that have been impacted by severe rains early this year. This initiative aims to facilitate access to financial resources for those businesses that suffered losses due to recent storms. The program is part of the Acredita Sebrae initiative and is available for financing operations until the end of August.
In addition to guaranteeing the entire loan amount, the financial support will also exempt borrowers from paying the usual Commission for Concession of Guarantee (CCA) that is typically required when taking out loans. This exemption will bolster the initiative further, ensuring that the burden of additional costs does not hinder the recovery efforts of these small businesses. Sebrae’s program collaborates with 29 financial institutions that are part of this guarantee fund for micro and small businesses.
Sebrae's president, Décio Lima, emphasized the importance of this measure in supporting the local economy's recovery. He called this moment one of solidarity in the wake of natural disasters, highlighting the critical need for support to help businesses bounce back and restore livelihoods in the affected regions. This initiative not only aims to assist in the immediate aftermath of the rains but also seeks to foster long-term economic stability for these communities in Minas Gerais.
