Guarujá resumes construction on Avenida dos Caiçaras after months of halt and postpones delivery
The city of Guarujá resumes construction on the bike path on Avenida dos Caiçaras after a two-month standstill, with the completion date now pushed to August.
The city government of Guarujá, located on São Paulo's coast, has announced the resumption of construction work on the bike path along Avenida dos Caiçaras, which had been halted for over two months. Initially started in July 2025, the project was expected to be completed by January of this year. However, the deadline has now been extended to August due to delays. The city has assured that the project's budget of BRL 1,094,000 will remain unchanged despite these delays.
Originally planned for a duration of six months, the construction timeline has now expanded to eleven months, indicating that completion will take over a year since the start date. Work in the area was suspended from December 20 to March 2 due to the holiday period and heavy rains, which contributed to the overall delay in the project. The administration noted that it had made progress between July 27 and November 2025, managing to conduct some activities during the four months of the original six-month schedule.
As part of the renovation efforts on Avenida dos Caiçaras, significant changes have been made, including the removal of trees and adjustments to the central median strip. These developments are vital for improving the infrastructure of the region, and the city is striving to keep the public informed about the status of the project as it progresses towards completion.
