Avenida Prainha will have a new section blocked in Cuiabá; see transportation changes

A section of Avenida Prainha in Cuiabá will be blocked for construction work, affecting local traffic and public transportation.

Avenida Tenente Coronel Duarte, locally known as Prainha, will face a new block starting at 7 AM on Tuesday (3rd) in Cuiabá, as announced by the Municipal Secretariat for Urban Mobility and Public Safety. The blockade will take place between Avenida Dom Bosco and Avenida 15 de Novembro, in the direction of Centro to Porto. The closure is expected to last until the beginning of the next week, with a possible reopening on the following Monday (9th); however, the time frame could change based on the progress of the works. This phase of the construction involves drainage services managed by the concessionaire Águas Cuiabá. After the drainage work, there will be milling and resurfacing of the asphalt by the company responsible for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, which is being executed by the Government of Mato Grosso, through the Secretary of State for Infrastructure and Logistics of Mato Grosso. The ongoing works are part of broader infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing urban mobility in Cuiabá. The traffic changes due to this interdicting will impact local commuting patterns, and adjustments will be necessary for both personal vehicles and public transport systems. Authorities encourage citizens to seek alternative routes and remain informed about the evolving situation, as the construction might affect travel times and accessibility in the capital city. This is a critical step in the city's larger strategy to improve transportation networks, highlighting the importance of infrastructure development in urban areas.
