Free workshops on healthy eating arrive in Búzios

Residents of Armação dos Búzios, Brazil, can participate in free food education workshops as part of the Saúde em Ação project, aimed at promoting healthy eating habits.

Free workshops focused on healthy eating will take place in Búzios, Brazil, on Friday, as part of the Saúde em Ação project organized by the State Health Department of Rio de Janeiro in collaboration with Firjan SESI. These workshops are designed to provide local residents with educational resources related to nutrition and food utilization. The event aims to promote healthier eating habits among the community, highlighting practical approaches to making food choices that benefit health.

The workshops will be held at Praça do INEFI with a mobile unit set up to assist participants. The programming is set to run from 9 AM to 5 PM, featuring hands-on education in small groups capped at 24 participants. Two sessions of workshops will be offered: one in the morning from 10 AM to 12 PM, and another in the afternoon from 2 PM to 4 PM, allowing 48 residents to actively engage in learning about nutritional practices.

Overall, this initiative demonstrates the commitment of local authorities to improve public health via education, encouraging the community to adopt cooking techniques that maximize food use and minimize waste. By providing access to these workshops, the project not only empowers individuals with knowledge but also aims to foster a culture of healthy living in Búzios and its surrounding areas.
