Police arrest six people in operation against violence from organized fan groups in Pará

The Pará Civil Police arrested six individuals in a crackdown on organized fan groups involved in coordinated violence.

The Pará Civil Police launched "Operation Clean Game" on the morning of Friday, the 6th, aiming to combat violence associated with organized fan groups. As of the latest update, six arrests have been made as part of this effort. The operation is led by the Delegacy for the Protection of Fans and Major Events (DPTGE), targeting the dismantling of organized fan groups involved in attacks that threaten public safety and the integrity of sporting events.

The primary goal of the operation is to prevent future incidents of violence among fans and ensure public order during sporting events. To facilitate this, the justice system issued nine temporary arrest warrants along with 16 search and seizure orders. In addition to the arrests, police seized mobile phones and other items belonging to the organized fan groups, indicating a comprehensive approach to curtailing the influence of such groups on public safety and event decorum.

This operation underscores the ongoing concern regarding fan-related violence in Brazil, particularly in sports scenarios where rivalries can escalate to dangerous levels. By proactively addressing these issues through law enforcement, authorities aim to safeguard the wellbeing of fans and promote a safer environment at sports events in Pará and potentially set a precedent for other regions facing similar challenges.
