The story of a solidarity caravan that has already helped 600 dining rooms
A solidarity caravan organized by Ayudemos a los Chicos aims to collect non-perishable food for a local dining hall in Esteban Echeverría, Argentina.
On March 15th, the Campo Amat in Monte Grande will host a new solidarity caravan featuring classic cars and motorcycles, with the aim of gathering non-perishable food items for the 'Sagrado Corazón' dining hall and snack bar located in the La Victoria neighborhood of Esteban Echeverría. This initiative is spearheaded by the organization Ayudemos a los Chicos, led by Claudio González, which has been active since 2013 under the motto 'help us to help.' The organization does not receive contributions from political parties, churches, or corporations and relies solely on the commitment of local residents who join in each call for help, with their efforts expanding over time.
Since its inception, the organization has rallied the community of Esteban Echeverría and nearby districts to address urgent needs. González emphasizes the importance of community involvement, stating, 'I can organize, but if people do not join in, I do nothing.' This sentiment underscores the collective effort and solidarity among residents that defines the initiative. The caravan has not only served as a means to collect food but has also fostered a sense of community among those who participate.
Through successful events like this, Ayudemos a los Chicos has previously supported over 600 dining halls, showcasing the impact of grassroots efforts in providing essential support to vulnerable populations. The continued engagement of the community highlights the potential for local initiatives to enact change and support those in need, emphasizing the power of collective action in addressing social issues.
