SBI cashier drowned while bathing in the river after playing Holi, 2 saved

After celebrating Holi, an SBI cashier drowned in the Sabari River in Chhattisgarh, while two other colleagues were rescued by villagers and police.

A tragic incident occurred in the Konta block of Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, where three employees of the State Bank of India went to bathe in the Sabari River after celebrating the festival of Holi. The employees misjudged the depth of the water and were overwhelmed by the strong current. Local villagers, having heard their cries for help, jumped into the river and managed to rescue two of the employees, including a bank manager.

Despite the villagers' courageous efforts, one employee, identified as Sainath who held the cashier position, went missing in the deep water. The timely arrival of local police facilitated a rescue operation, but unfortunately, Sainath was later found dead in the river. This heartbreaking incident highlights the dangers associated with swimming in unfamiliar waters, especially after festivals which can lead to careless behavior among individuals.

The loss of Sainath, who was well-regarded within the local community and his workplace, is a grave reminder of the need for caution during celebrations that can lead to risky activities. Authorities have urged citizens to be cautious and aware of their surroundings during such communal festivities in order to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
