In a tragic incident following the Holi festival, two teenagers lost their lives while swimming in the Ghaghra River in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The event unfolded when five local teens decided to take a dip in the river after celebrating Holi. While swimming, they were unexpectedly swept into deep waters, leading to a desperate situation.

The victims, identified as Sumit (15) and Raj (16), along with their friends Anoop (15), Rishabh (17), and Vishal (16) were enjoying their time in the river when they suddenly started to struggle against the current. The alarming cries of the drowning boys caught the attention of nearby locals, who immediately rushed to the scene, attempting to rescue them from the swirling waters.

While the combined efforts of the local community resulted in the successful rescue of Anoop, Rishabh, and Vishal, tragically, Sumit and Raj could not be located in time and were pronounced missing. Subsequent police intervention led to the recovery of their bodies, which have since been sent for post-mortem examination, leaving their families in mourning and raising concerns about safety in local waterways during festive times.
