Rio City Hall opens 1,500 vacancies for young people from communities to participate in the Citizenship Attitude project
The Rio de Janeiro City Hall is offering 1,500 opportunities for youths aged 15 to 18 from vulnerable communities to join the Citizenship Attitude project.
The Rio de Janeiro City Hall has announced the opening of 1,500 vacancies for young people aged 15 to 18 living in the communities of Santa Cruz, Irajá, and Penha to participate in the Citizenship Attitude project. Applications for this initiative will be accepted online from March 3 to March 8, 2026. This project is coordinated by the Special Secretariat of Citizenship and Family of the City of Rio de Janeiro and is part of the Carioca Citizenship program, with each of the three regions receiving 500 vacancies.
The project aims to support adolescents facing social vulnerabilities residing in favelas and peripheral areas. To assist participants in attending the activities, each selected individual will receive a monthly grant of R$ 350. The ultimate goal of the program is to empower these young people to gain autonomy in managing their personal and professional growth over a four-month training period.
Through this initiative, the Rio City Hall is addressing the urgent need to provide educational and development opportunities for marginalized youth. By focusing on enhancing the life prospects of participants, the project not only aims to uplift individuals but also aspires to impact the broader community positively, by equipping the next generation with skills and insights that broaden their life paths.
