Camarote invites residents of communities to watch parades at Sapucaí
Camarote Nº1 in Rio de Janeiro will host 300 community residents for the carnival parades this year, providing an exclusive opportunity for those involved in social projects.
In an innovative move for this year’s Rio carnival, Camarote Nº1 will offer an exclusive space for residents from local communities, making it a unique opportunity for those who may not usually have access to such events. This program will take place on the Saturday of the carnival, allowing 300 invited guests from Vidigal and Preventório to watch the Grupo de Acesso parades from premium seating areas. The initiative aims to uplift and engage individuals from socio-economically challenged areas through inclusion in cultural festivities.
This initiative is the result of a collaboration with Instituto Cidades Invisíveis, which has been working on social projects focused on education, sports, and culture in vulnerable areas. They have been providing ongoing support in the communities, including academic tutoring, computer classes, and cultural workshops, thereby hoping to foster an environment that encourages creativity and education among the youth. By connecting residents with such an important cultural event, the Camarote Nº1 initiative seeks not only to entertain but also to empower these communities.
Marcio Esher, a partner at Camarote Nº1, emphasized the importance of this initiative in providing residents a chance to experience one of Brazil's most famous celebrations. The true spirit of carnival is rooted in community and culture, and by opening the doors of the camarote to those who contribute to the community’s vitality, this project demonstrates a commitment to social responsibility and inclusion during one of the most vibrant times of the year in Rio de Janeiro.
