Trio suspected of a series of robberies in Aracaju arrested by the PRF in São Cristóvão

Three men suspected of committing a series of robberies in Aracaju were arrested by the Federal Highway Police in São Cristóvão.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of involvement in a series of robberies at commercial establishments in the capital of Sergipe, Aracaju. The arrest took place by agents of the Federal Highway Police (PRF) at their operational post in São Cristóvão on Tuesday night. Approximately around 7:30 PM, the PRF received a tip about a theft occurring at a supermarket in Aracaju, leading to their quick response.

At around 9 PM, the police managed to intercept the car occupied by the trio. Upon searching the vehicle, they found various stolen goods, including food items, alcoholic beverages, and personal hygiene products. Furthermore, they discovered a specialized tool used for removing security tags, commonly utilized to prevent alarm activation in stores, which raised further suspicions regarding the men’s activities.

According to the PRF, the driver attempted to claim that the items were purchased from a local grocery store; however, he failed to provide a receipt and could not specify the location of the supposed store. This inconsistency, along with the evidence gathered, has solidified their suspicion that the trio was involved in a larger scheme of commercial thefts in Aracaju, emphasizing the ongoing challenge of retail crime in the region.
