Four men were arrested in Brazil for allegedly planning a robbery at a jewelry store in Aracaju.
Four men suspected of planning a robbery at a jewelry store in Aracaju were arrested during a police operation on BR-101 in Propriá, Sergipe. The arrests were made public on Wednesday following an investigation by the Military and Civil Police, which revealed that the suspects, who hail from Ceará, had been conducting preliminary reconnaissance at the targeted jewelry store in Aracaju.
According to the police investigation, after gathering information, the suspects left the capital to procure firearms from other gang members with the intention of returning to Sergipe to carry out the robbery. They were apprehended just before they could execute their plan. Notably, one of the suspects was already a convicted robber with an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Ceará judiciary in 2024, indicating a history of criminal activity that heightened the risk posed by this group.
The arrested individuals were taken to the Special Police Operations Center (Cope) in the Sergipe capital, where further measures would be considered to address their criminal intentions and past offenses. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in Sergipe to thwart organized crime and protect local businesses from potential robberies, reaffirming the importance of collaboration between different police forces in maintaining public safety.
