A flight is arranged for Finns out of the Middle East - This is how much it costs
The Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is organizing a repatriation flight for Finns in the UAE, departing from Oman, costing approximately 2,300 euros.
The Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (UM) has announced that it will be organizing a repatriation flight for Finns currently in the United Arab Emirates, specifically departing from Muscat, Oman. According to consul chief Jussi Tanner, the cost of this flight is set at around 2,300 euros, which will be the responsibility of passengers, as they also need to cover the expenses for getting to Oman. The high price is attributed to busy flight traffic and insurance costs that have surged in the region due to the ongoing conflict.
In light of recent escalations, particularly the U.S. and Israel's military actions against Iran, which have sparked wider conflicts across the Middle East, the UM has indicated it will provide additional information on how to purchase tickets and travel arrangements via their communication channels. They have specifically noted that Finnish citizens who previously filed travel notifications for the UAE will receive direct updates as well, underlining the need for clear and prompt communication during such crisis situations.
The Ministry has also expressed its willingness to assist Finns wishing to leave other countries in the Middle East. However, Tanner clarified that airlines and travel operators retain primary responsibility for their customers. This situation highlights the complexities international travelers face in a volatile region and underscores the importance of governmental support in ensuring safe passage during emergencies.
