Jussi Tanner, the head of the consular department, indicated that the increase in commercial flights has provided new opportunities for evacuation. Notably, 74 flights from Dubai are scheduled for today, with eleven of them destined for Europe before evening, and some flights will utilize large Airbus A380 aircraft to accommodate the demand.
Additionally, Tanner highlighted the situation in Abu Dhabi, where 14 flights are planned for the same day. This upsurge in flight availability is vital, as many people have been waiting for the chance to return home amid rising tensions in the region. Tanner also mentioned that land borders with Oman and Saudi Arabia have reopened, which may further facilitate the movement of individuals looking to exit the area.
