West Bank: A Series of Israeli Raids on Dozens of Cities and Towns at Dawn
The Israeli military conducted a large-scale raid in several towns and villages across the West Bank, leading to numerous arrests.
On Wednesday morning, the Israeli military launched a significant operation in the West Bank, violently raiding dozens of towns and villages, which led to a widespread campaign of arrests. The military actions entailed sealing off entrances to multiple towns with military barriers and earth mounds, effectively locking down these areas. Residents of the affected towns reported that some homes were cleared out, and a select few were even repurposed into military barracks.
During these raids, Israeli forces targeted numerous houses, detaining many Palestinians and subjecting them to field interrogation. The military carried out extensive searches within these homes, disturbing the belongings of families, particularly focusing on the homes of former prisoners. This surge of military presence was accompanied by a notable increase in security forces throughout the streets and neighborhoods, enhancing tensions in the region.
The raids were particularly concentrated in cities like Hebron in the southern West Bank and several of its towns, including Samu, Beit Ummar, and Idna. The Israeli military also executed operations in Bethlehem's townships of Beit Fajjar and Teqoua, as well as conducting a series of incursions in other towns in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorates. In the northern regions, raids were reported in places like Bidya and Mashta in Salfit, Qalqilya, and Tulkarem, indicating a widespread pattern of military activity across the West Bank.
