West Bank: Ongoing Israeli raids and assaults tighten the noose on residents
Israeli forces are intensifying their raids in the West Bank, particularly during Ramadan, causing increasing distress among residents.
Israeli military forces have recently intensified their operations in the West Bank, with a notable raid taking place in Nablus where troops surrounded a house, restricting movement in the area. Eyewitnesses reported that the specific targets and results of the operation, such as possible arrests or injuries, remain unclear. This escalation occurs against the backdrop of active daily life during the Ramadan period, heightening tensions in already volatile regions. In addition to the Nablus operation, Israeli forces also entered the village of Al-Deir, located southeast of Bethlehem, where they situated themselves among civilian homes. Reports indicate that they delivered demolition notices for six homes, most of which are occupied, citing violations related to building without permission. These actions reflect a broader pattern of increasing Israeli military presence in Palestinian towns and cities. Moreover, data from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission indicates that approximately 59 demolition operations targeting 126 Palestinian structures occurred in January alone. This included the demolition of 77 inhabited homes, primarily concentrated in Hebron. The continuous Israeli incursions and demolitions are often reported by Palestinians to coincide with Ramadan, amplifying the stress on local communities during this holy month and raising concerns regarding compliance with international laws and human rights issues.
