Hungary pleased with tourism results. Poland among the top incoming markets

Hungarian tourism experienced significant growth in 2025, with over 15 million tourists visiting and international arrivals rising, particularly from Poland.

In 2025, Hungary saw a remarkable surge in its tourism sector, attracting over 15 million visitors who accounted for 36.7 million overnight stays, indicating increases of 6% in visitor numbers and 3% in overnight stays compared to the previous year. This growth has been mainly driven by international tourists, with a notable 11% increase in foreign arrivals, highlighting Hungary's appeal as a popular travel destination.

Poland has emerged as a key player in this surge, with nearly an 11% rise in Polish tourists contributing to Hungary's tourism statistics. Budapest remains a central hub, recording over 13 million overnight stays, with a striking 87% of these attributed to international guests. Furthermore, smaller towns and regional tourist areas, such as around Lake Balaton, have also experienced stable growth, revealing a growing interest among travelers to explore destinations beyond the capital city.

The successful increase in tourism has encouraged Visit Hungary to collaborate with the Kleber Group PR agency to enhance their marketing strategies. This collaboration aims to further promote Hungary as a desirable destination for cultural, wellness, and city-break tourism, solidifying its position in the competitive tourism market.
