The state of Piauí has successfully formed 516 fire brigadiers through a training program implemented by the Secretary of Administration (Sead) via the Public Server Attention Directorate (Ciaspi). This initiative, which is part of a broader strategy to bolster emergency preparedness and safety, aims to provide more than 2,000 trained professionals by the end of 2026. The substantial number of trained individuals underscores the importance of the Fire Brigade Formation Project in reinforcing the safety protocols established by the state government.
Launched in 2025 as a result of technical cooperation with the Public Security Secretariat and the Fire Department, the training program focuses on equipping healthcare staff to respond swiftly and effectively in emergencies. This initiative seeks to ensure the safety of patients, healthcare professionals, and visitors within hospitals, as well as to protect public assets. One of the first facilities to benefit from this program was the Nova Maternidade Dona Evangelina Rosa, where a significant cohort of 123 fire brigadiers underwent training.
The initiative's rollout across various hospitals is part of a comprehensive approach to disaster management and public health safety. The collaboration between different government sectors highlights Piauí's commitment to enhancing public safety infrastructure in healthcare settings.
