Nigeria concludes 2025 pilgrimage to Israel, Jordan, final batch returns home
Nigeria has successfully completed its 2025 pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan, with the final group of pilgrims returning to the country.
The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission has announced the successful completion of its 2025 Main Pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan, culminating in the return of the last group of pilgrims to Nigeria. These pilgrims landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport early on Tuesday, marking the end of the pilgrimage season. The event is significant as it reflects the Commission's efforts to foster religious tourism and spiritual fulfillment for Christians in Nigeria.
Stephen Adegbite, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, emphasized the importance of the support received from top government officials, including President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu. He highlighted that their backing was crucial for the successful execution of the five pilgrimages conducted during his tenure. This collaboration showcases the government's role in facilitating religious practices among its citizens, enhancing the connection between faith and national identity.
Adegbite also assured that the Commission prioritizes the safety and comfort of Nigerian pilgrims, particularly in light of recent geopolitical developments in the Middle East that could impact travel. The successful completion of this pilgrimage not only underscores the resilience of the Commission but also serves to reassure future pilgrims of the commitment to their safety and the spiritual significance of such journeys.
