‘Banpo Bridge Fall’ Porsche Driver's Accomplice Says “I Handed Over the Drugs”… Voluntarily Reported to Police
The accomplice of a Porsche driver involved in a fall from Seoul's Banpo Bridge has reported to the police, admitting to providing drugs.
A 30-something woman, identified as the accomplice of a man involved in a car accident after falling from Banpo Bridge while under the influence of drugs, voluntarily reported to the police following news coverage of the incident. The driver, referred to as Mr. G, was apprehended after the accident, which saw him crash through the bridge railing and land in the Han River's riverside area. Upon investigation, police found empty propofol bottles and filled syringes in G's vehicle, and he acknowledged using drugs while driving. The woman, identified as Ms. N, is alleged to have provided Mr. G with these drugs.
Mr. G is known to be a social media influencer with over 100,000 followers and operates a hospital marketing agency. Ms. N, the alleged accomplice, is reported to have been an employee at the same hospital where Mr. G had a business relationship. After seeing reports about the accident, she voluntarily went to the police to give her account of the events. Investigators focused on questioning her about the circumstances surrounding the drug handover to Mr. G during her interrogation.
The propofol found in G's car is a sedative used for surgeries and general anesthesia, and has been classified as a controlled substance in South Korea since 2011. Misuse of propofol can result in severe legal penalties, including up to five years in prison or fines of up to 50 million won under the country's narcotics laws. Meanwhile, authorities have also charged Mr. G with aggravated charges under specific crime laws related to dangerous driving causing injury, adding to previous charges of violating drug laws and driving under the influence of drugs, following the collection of medical reports documenting the injuries of another driver involved in the crash.
