CPMI of INSS: president says that the Federal Police are filtering confidential documents about Vorcaro and Banco Master
The president of the CPMI of INSS announced that the Federal Police are currently filtering confidential documents related to banker Daniel Vorcaro and Banco Master.
Carlos Viana, the president of the Mixed Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPMI) of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), indicated that the Federal Police (PF) are undertaking a filtering process of confidential documents associated with banker Daniel Vorcaro and Banco Master. This statement came during a session held on Monday, where he expressed concerns over the handling of information from an ongoing investigation surrounding these entities.
On September 20, the Supreme Federal Court (STF) returned the access to various documents to the commission, which had previously been under the custody of the Presidency of the Senate, following an order from former rapporteur of the case, Minister Dias Toffoli. Viana emphasized that the recent decision from Minister André Mendonça did not obligate the PF to carry out any verification processes on the documents, arguing for transparent access to the complete files.
The news has garnered attention as it raises questions regarding the accountability and transparency of the Federal Police's role in handling sensitive information related to inquiries that potentially involve high-profile banking figures. The ongoing scrutiny over Vorcaro and Banco Master could have significant implications for regulatory practices within Brazil's banking sector, as well as the broader political landscape amidst heightened discussions about corruption and oversight in governmental processes.
