CPI President says that the Federal Police will only deliver Vorcaro-related data linked to the INSS investigation

The president of the INSS CPI in Brazil announced that the Federal Police will only provide data regarding investigations related to Daniel Vorcaro after cataloging the materials, which is expected to be completed shortly due to the commission's deadline.

Carlos Viana, the president of the INSS Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI), stated that the Brazilian Federal Police will release information concerning the banking, fiscal, and telematics data of Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, which is pertinent to the ongoing investigation into the INSS. He indicated that the Federal Police signaled it would deliver the materials within five days after cataloging the contents, highlighting the rush of the commission due to its imminent closure set for March 28. The commission's urgency stems from its limited time frame, prompting members to push for the swift release and evaluation of critical data related to the case. Previously, these documents were housed under the Senate due to decisions made by the former case rapporteur, Minister Dias Toffoli. With a change in leadership, the current rapporteur, André Mendonça, ordered that these documents be returned to the commission. Mendonça's directive included provisions for the materials to be first submitted to the Federal Police to ensure that the chain of custody was preserved, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of the evidence linked to the investigations. This legal procedure underscores the importance of following due process as the CPI navigates sensitive insights related to alleged improprieties within the INSS framework.
