Estonians collected 16 medals at the virtual indoor rowing World Championship
Estonian athletes secured a total of 16 medals, including seven golds, at the recent virtual indoor rowing World Championships.
The virtual indoor rowing World Championships came to a close on Saturday, showcasing the talents of numerous athletes from Estonian clubs. In total, Estonian participants amassed 16 medals of various colors, with seven being gold. This demonstrates a successful effort from the athletes to excel in the competition despite its virtual format.
Adelle Ader from CrossFit Tallinn highlighted the event with a stellar performance, setting a new Estonian record for the 1000-meter distance with a time of 3:09.4. She was closely followed by Italy's Sophie Souwer and Denmark's Var Gudridottir Hansen in the 23-29 age category, showcasing the competitive spirit across nations. Other distances included a one-minute race and a 5000-meter distance, allowing a wide range of events for the athletes to compete in.
The medal haul included remarkable achievements across various categories, particularly for women aged 21-22, where Doris Meinbek excelled in multiple events. With the dominance in various categories, the performance of Estonian rowers at the championships not only reflects their skill but also enhances Estonia's reputation in the rowing community on a global scale.
