Four athletes represent Estonia at the indoor athletics World Championships this weekend
Estonia will be represented by four athletes at the indoor athletics World Championships taking place from March 20 to 22 in Poland.
This weekend, from March 20 to 22, the indoor athletics season will culminate with the World Championships held in Torun, Poland. A total of four Estonian athletes are set to compete over the course of three days at the Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena, which notably hosted the European Indoor Championships five years ago. This event marks a significant platform for these athletes to showcase their talents on an international stage.
Among the competitors is pole vaulter Marleen Mülla, participating in her first indoor championship. Mülla has shown impressive performance this season, having consistently cleared high jumps and has improved her personal best to 4.63 meters, placing her 13th in the world season rankings. Her presence at the World Championships is notable not only for her achievements but also for the potential displayed by emerging athletes in Estonia.
In the women's 60m hurdles, Kreete Verlin is set to compete after having an outstanding season, where she became the first Estonian female to break the 8-second barrier in the hurdles sprint. With four new national records under her belt this winter, she currently ranks 31st globally with a time of 7.96 seconds. Alongside these two, Rasmus Roosleht will compete in the heptathlon, bringing further attention to Estonia's athletic prowess on the international stage, suggesting a bright future for Estonian athletics and a promising outcome in the competition ahead.
