The Hemopa Foundation organized a successful blood donation campaign in Santarém, Brazil, gathering over 100 volunteers to help replenish the local blood bank's supplies.
On Saturday, the Hemopa Foundation held its blood donation campaign titled 'Donate Blood, Donate Life' in Santarém, western Pará, which successfully mobilized over 100 volunteers. The campaign, conducted in partnership with the Military Fire Brigade of Pará and Sest Senat, aimed to reinforce the blood bank's supply to hospital services in the region. This initiative is vital for supporting not only local patients but also those in surrounding municipalities, particularly those requiring oncology services.
Pharmaceutical representative Marinalva Lavor emphasized the importance of such campaigns to prevent blood shortages. She reiterated that the blood bank is essential for local hospitals and emphasized the need for community partnerships to ensure a consistent supply. With increasing demands during specific periods, the foundation actively seeks collaboration to avoid depletion of resources, which could critically impact patient care.
Throughout the day's activities, donors were engaged with various incentives, including receiving gifts and participating in relaxing activities like massage sessions. Students from the fire brigade also took part and donated blood, showcasing community involvement in such a vital cause. The event not only promoted the importance of blood donation but also fostered a sense of solidarity and teamwork within the community, highlighting the ongoing need for regular blood donations to guarantee a steady supply for those in need.
